Social Media Sites Crack Down on Adult Content

A few weeks ago, social media sites were rippling with a new change to Instagram’s policy on sexy content. They added a new policy that is very broad that bans any type of sexual content. This gives them a broad brush to stamp out anything that they think is a bit too saucy for the world to see. However, this not only hurts pornstars who love to share their hot pictures on the social network, but fitness models and people who just like themselves and post sexy pictures or videos for fun. This new policy may have been inspired by FOSTA SESTA, the new law which makes websites responsible for what gets posted on them. The law is supposed to stop human trafficking, but some opponents argue that it actually makes victims harder to find by pushing them further underground!`

Shortly after the change was announced, people on other social networks like Twitter started to report Instagram accounts being taken down or suspended for sexual content. This move is sad for many who have many followers on the social media site. Social media sites have come under fire lately for being even more strict on sexual content but allowing what could be considered hate speech and other questionable topics. The duality of sex and violence is such an interesting one. In the US, sexuality is often shunned and hidden, but violence is lauded and accepted. However, in real life, what is the likelihood that you will see and nude body versus the likelihood that you will see a building blow up like in your favorite action movie?

The Instagram crackdown could hurt pornstars and porn producers who like to post sexy things on the social network, but these crackdowns are really nothing new. Ever since the invention of Facebook, they have been policing sexy content, even analyzing photos of nude art pieces like statues and paintings to determine if the historic content should be allowed on the site. Luckily they came up with a policy to allow art and classic statues with nudity as long as it was tasteful content.

Many bring up first amendment rights when it comes to these social media crackdowns, however, it’s important to remember that the first amendment just gives us the assurance that we will not be prosecuted by authorities for our free speech. We are actually lucky to live in a place where we can say almost anything and not get arrested. However, this law does not protect people from repercussion by private companies. That’s why and how these giant social corporations can get away with censoring so many people who just want to share sexy joy with the world.

Everyone should be able to share nude pics if they want, but it’s understandable that there have to be some type of guideline about what can get shared where. Is there any social network that will just allow people to post whatever they want? Luckily if you like porn, there are plenty of free porn sites including PORN where you can watch hot content without fear of censorship!
