The Stormy Daniels Scandal Shows What Celebs REALLY Think of Pornstars

It recently came out that beautiful blonde pornstar Stormy Daniels may have been paid $130,000 to stay hush about a rendez-vous or two with now president Donald Trump. The whole thing has caused a scandal, though, it seems to have been brushed under the rug for the moment. However, when it was fresh in the eye of the world, some people said some things that they might regret. Those in the porn biz, in addition to porn fans who truly appreciate the incredible people who keep this business going, got to see what certain people truly think of the people in the porno business, and the results were very disappointing for some. Aurora Snow, a former pornstar herself, summarized the whole thing in her regular column on The Daily Beast.

One of the celebrities mentioned was Chelsea Handler, who, in her passion of the moment, posted a tweet that swept up pornstars into the same category as others who are completely undesirable and even criminal. It shows that while people, including celebrities, are perfectly happy to watch the products of pornstars’ hard labor, they aren’t really respectful of the profession, and are willing to throw them under the bus at the first opportunity. It’s really unfortunate because while pornstars do sign up to become a sex symbol for the world, they don’t sign up to become political pawns to be used by either side! It’s especially harrowing because earlier in the year Ms. Handler made an impassioned Instagram post about how she will fight for any kind of person in the US, however, she seems to be leaving pornstars out of that equation. Additionally, Chelsea has posted plenty of topless photos on Instagram in an effort to #freethenipple, so it’s not like she is completely above spreading her naked image around the web either.

Another celebrity who made a similar move is Judd Apatow, a well respected director who  made a similar tweet that lumped pornstars in with not only activities that are actually criminal and despicable, but other things which are looked down upon by the wealthy elite like KFC. Some people like fried chicken and others like pornstars, and there’s nothing wrong with that! Performing in a porn movie is perfectly legal and a good business opportunity for many men and women who can deal with the stresses that come along with the business. Unlike Handler, Judd Apatow actually did apologize a bit when called out online for his anti sex work stance. He said that what he meant was that Trump had cheated on his wife with a pornstar at a time when his wife had recently been pregnant.

The thing to remember is that not only do the actions of one pornstar not represent the whole industry, it’s important not to throw any members of our community under the bus. Porn is legal and pornstars work hard and pay taxes too! Not everyone has to like it, but don’t lump the porn biz in with other activities that are just not at all the same.
